The title «newfound space» expresses Motus Terrae’s philosophy on site specific creation. Each in situ creation is the outcome of a dialogue with the given space. This dialogue process does not concern only the morphology of the site. Its history, as well as the impact its current use has on local society, constitute a research material of equal importance.
Theatrical act aims at creating new references for the spectators, regarding the – already familiar to them – site. Thus, artistic creation would alter one’s perception of the site. So, the aftereffect will continue to echoe well after the performance’s conclusion, through the new memories created. At the point when these new memories meet those of the past, the site is born anew. Henceforth it becomes a newfound space.
